This book is designed to give 5-string electric bass players an understanding of the bass fingerboard. Such knowledge is essential for the creation of melodic bass lines. Bass players must be able to perform on their instruments to the utmost of their abilities. To do so, they need the same tools that make any musician a powerful performer. The first set of tools consists of scales and arpeggios, which are the basic units from which all melodies and chord progressions are derived.
