From blues rhythm guitar to soloing, this video will help you learn to play blues guitar in styles similar to such legends as Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Eric Clapton and others. Mike Christiansen will guide you through the basic techniques used in playing blues guitar, and how to combine these elements to create your own blues solos and rhythm accompaniments. While some of the blues techniques discussed here can be applied to both the electric and acoustic guitar, many are more typically played on the electric guitar. This video contains segments on the blues progression, strum patterns, comping, power chords and barre chords, turnarounds, blues fills and scales, double stops, common blues licks, use of the whammy bar, and approaches to building a blues guitar solo. In combination with the Mel Bay Publications book of the same title, this video is a powerful tool for learning rhythm and lead blues guitar.
